Hey everyone. So, there are two types of places in my mind: places you go for a pretty specific reason and places that aren't that way. Take a post office, for example. If you're going to a post office, you need to collect mail, send out packages, or something else relating to the postal service. You don't exactly go there to lollygag or do other stuff. Contrast this with a library, that people may use for a variety of reasons. Checking out books, of course, but also as a study space, using the computers, reading the newspapers, and as a quiet space to get away.
With all of that said, I would consider a hospital in the first category because a hospital is usually when someone is sick or there's something that medical care can improve in someone's body. Well, I took things in a slightly different direction today because the Gnome Games group meets at the clinic each Monday for gaming. It all started because someone talked up the food in the clinic's cafeteria and gaming there turned into a weekly routine. I hadn't joined before, so today was my first time and it was definitely weird being in a hospital with any medical needs or people to visit.
There ended up being five of us and it did sort of feel like a good environment for gaming. There was quite a lot of space but there were only five other groups of people throughout the evening. The food was pretty good, although most of my culinary selections were fried, so I know I don't have much of a leg to stand on. We played the castle game I had played with people at Kavarna last with a different scenario, and we ended up winning.
So yeah, that was part of my evening. Things were very busy at work today, and I may dabble a little into blogging about work... but I'm still not sure, and it wouldn't be tonight, since it's late and all. So off to bed I go. Tomorrow will be National German-American Day.
