Some random questions to move the weekend along

Hey everyone. Even though it's not Tuesday or a day where I typically do a random entry, let's go with a set of random questions.

(As always, I will be employing the "first answer that comes to mind" for questions that may be difficult to narrow down to answer.)

If you could live the next 24 hours and then erase it and start over just once, what would you do?
- Fly out to New York City and see a musical production on Broadway. I think it would be amazing. (As for the specific production, I would have to see what's playing, but I have my short list.)

When have you worked hard and loved every minute of it?
- There were a couple summers where I worked at the community theater as part of the stage crew and occasionally in the ensemble of a few shows. My first instinct from the question is about a job I've had, but if we open it up a little more, all of the shows at that theater were a blast to be a part of.

What is the most valuable life lesson you learned from your parents?
- Work to treat everyone with respect and kindness.

What strenght comes from suffering?
- Truth because I think suffering can help you realize what you truly believe and what you're willing to suffer for in order not to lose.

What is the biggest change you have made in your life in the last year?
- Starting grad school in the Student Affairs field

Which one of your responsibilities do you wish you could get rid of?
- It shouldn't be surprising that my answer is washing dishes.

How long can you hold a grudge?
- I'd like to say that I don't hold onto grudges and that I let bygones be bygones. However, since I'm human, that's not quite the case and I'll admit that I have at least one small grudge that has been in existence for a handful of years.

How many pairs of shoes do you have? How many is too many?
- Four: everyday shoes, dress shoes, tennis shoes, and sandals. I could think of a few other pairs of shoes to add (like brown dress shoes), but having more than eight would probably start feeling like too many.

If you had to apply a label to yourself, what would it be?
- Self-conscious nerd.

Do you say meaner things to your friends or your enemies?
- Similar to the grudge question, I wish I could say neither, but when it happens, it's directed at enemies.

What was the first big thing you bought with your own money?
- The first big purchase I remember making after graduating college was a TV for my living room.

What is something you know you do differently than most people?
- I've heard many times that it's weird that I wear my watch on my right wrist, while being right-handed.

Would you rather be able to visit 100 years in the past or 100 years in the future.
- The future, because I'd rather not go back to the middle of World War I.

What is the most played song in your music library?
- If we're going with Spotify, there are a few candidates to that claim, including the soundtrack to A Chorus Line, soundtrack to LA Noire, and various songs featured on Rock Band.

If you were immortal for a day, what would you do?
- I would probably just keep doing my usual activities, because even if I'm immortal, I wouldn't want to be in situations where I would experience excruciating pain and discomfort.

When in your life has a bad experience turned out to be for the best?
- During each of my job searches, I received many rejection emails or simply didn't hear back from schools I was really interested in. However, things worked out for me to work at the program in Missouri and then here, which have both been really good experiences.

When was the last time you were happy for no reason?
- Kind of an odd question, but I'm sure there's been a time like that in the past week...

What part of your morning routine do you consider essential?
- Well, waking up and getting out of bed is pretty important. Then there's showering and brushing teeth. Those seem like the essential pieces regardless of which day it is.

Would you double you commute if it meant you could double the square footage of your home?
- Given the fact that my commute is one flight of stairs, yes, in a heartbeat.

What song makes is the best song for a road trip?
- I know it's cliche, but the first song that popped up was "Life is a Highway" by Tom Cochrane.
