Hey everyone. So the site I used for yesterday's random questions has over 1,000 questions apparently. I honestly enjoyed yesterday's questions because they were different enough from a lot of those typical survey ones. So, I'm just going to answer a new bunch today. Okay? Great. Here goes!
What do you think the afterlife is like?
- I'm not going to go out and say what it will be like, but I'd like to hope that it's comforting and a time for rest.
What TV show are you embarrassed about watching?
- In high school, I was a little embarrassed that I would come home from school and throw on PBS which would have kids shows. In my defense, it was the most appealing thing that was on at the time.
What is your favorite book?
- My go-to is The Fault in Our Stars, so we'll go with that.
What do you believe will last forever?
- Hmm... entropy.
What do you want to do with your retirement?
- This is hoping that I am in decent shape physically, because I would like to see more of the world for the fun of it.
What traditions did your family have?
- That's kind of a big question. Christmas and Easter were big with my mom's side of the family, but now Christmas is the major holiday. I could go on for pages, but I'll just say that for now.
What is the worst flavor of ice cream?
- There are very few instances where I like nuts in a dessert, so I am not a fan of rocky road ice cream. I'll still eat it, but it's definitely low on the totem pole of choices.
What is the furthest north you have traveled?
- That would be Dublin, Ireland with the next closest (from a different trip) being Fort Frances, Canada.
Where were you in life 10 years ago?
- Where was I in life? Well, I was just starting college and having a rough time at it. It was difficult for me to adjust in a variety of forms and I know part of that stemmed from homesickness. I am glad I stuck with it although it would have been nice if I would have developed proper study skills at that point rather than down the road.
Would you ever live in Los Angeles?
- The allure of Hollywood is sort of there, but no. It would be too large of a city, really far away from my parents, and it seems like there wouldn't be enough green space for me to be happy.
Did you ever get left behind as a child?
- No, I can't say that I have.
What is the strangest food you have ever eaten?
- Okay, I know I've answered this one during some Random Tuesday before. Similar to then, I can't think of anything too off the wall, but most people in the Midwest are not familiar with cactus candy.
What is your favorite condiment?
- I'm usually torn between honey mustard and BBQ, depending on the food it's going with. However! I would add this Southwestern Ranch sauce I got from BWW's. Truth be told, I think living in Missouri for 5 years resulted in me wanting a little kick in my food.
What was the last sporting event you went to?
- Heh heh heh. I'm going to have to stretch for this one. I can guarantee that I went to a Royals game my first year in Missouri. After that, I honestly couldn't tell you. I think I could stand to update that.
What is the ideal comfort food?
- I know it's a little sappy, but either the family recipe chip dip or peanut blossoms like my mom would make.
What culture not your own do you respect?
- Umm, I try to have this answer be 'all'?
If you where in a Rock N' Roll band, what would your job be?
- Even though I have some skill with Rock Band & Guitar Hero, I'd probably be part of the tour management team.
What was your first email address?
- It was a hotmail address that is still active to this day because of my Xbox account. Outside of that, I've shifted everything over to Gmail.
What is the most important meal of the day?
- I know there's no "wrong" answer, but the answer is technically "breakfast". However, it's been a while since I've made breakfast a consistent thing, so I'll say lunch.
What is your warmest birthday memory?
- It's funny because my birthday is in February. The birthday that sticks out far and away was when I saw Star Wars for the first time as part of their 20 year anniversary re-release. Honestly, it was that experience that shaped my interests towards sci-fi & general nerddom. Then we went to McDonald's and used the cockpit part of the play pen to be X-Wing pilots.
What is the best costume you have worn?
- If we're talking theater, potentially my gambler suit for Guys and Dolls. Outside of theater, definitely the zombie gear when a group of 20-30 college friends had a zombie mob that roamed the campus to a costume contest. It was awesome.
Do you have any brothers or sisters?
- Well yes, a sister.
Did you ever want to change your name? If is to what?
- There were times where I wanted to change it so I didn't share the same name as five other people in the room. Then again, it would be weird to be called something as my legal name and I don't know what I would even change it to.
What song was unique to your family growing up?
- Unique to my family? It's not like we were the family Von Trapp or anything. I guess compared to my childhood friends, I listened to the Phantom of the Opera recording a lot more thanks to my sister.
Well, a couple of common questions, but still a good list. I probably won't do this everyday, but I'll definitely draw on these questions if I'm at a loss for blog topics. Tomorrow will be Punctuation Day and I will let you guess what my favorite punctuation mark is.
