Now that I'm safely on the ground and there's no way to really jinx myself (at least concerning today), my flights went smoothly today with no issues. Both on Thursday and today, I was surprised with how quickly the flights were, although I did bring some things to entertain me (in addition to sleeping the first bit of the initial flight).
Days where Michelle or I have to leave to go back to our respective cities suck, but it was nice not to be stuck in an airport unnecessarily, especially in the middle somewhere. After I got back, I did a little shopping and then honestly had a relaxed night in. Unfortunately, I should have gone to bed earlier, but that didn't quite happen. This week will be kind of hectic, but it shouldn't be too bad. Even still, I think a lot of it depends on how I attack tomorrow morning.
Starting tomorrow, I'll try to put some more time into topic-based blog entries instead of general updates. I won't say that one is better than the other (at least the "daily report" ones have been interesting while I've been doing fun stuff in Ohio), but once most of my day goes back to work, those update ones would get boring fast.
Today is Remember The Maine Day, referencing the USS Maine, which was a armored cruiser ship back in the 1890's. Apparently, the Maine just suddenly exploded while trying to intervene between Cuba & Spain, and even though the source of the explosion was a mystery, it sped up the tensions between the US & Spain, including the Spanish-American War. You learn something new every day...
