Last Full Day of RA Training

Hey everyone. Another long day to say the least. The bulk of today was Behind Closed Doors, which is when we have new RAs approach situations they may encounter during the year. It's a very helpful part of training, but it's also exhausting, especially with some of the heavier topics.

Fortunately, we were able to end on a higher note with a talent show. Each building put on a skit that incorporated some themes from the 1990s. For example, my staff mixed Captain Planet, Space Jam, and the Backstreet Boys into an MTV-style "show". Yeah, it was brief and silly, but it was a fun time. It's also entertaining to see what the other staffs come up with as skits (and including other 90s themes).

Tomorrow is the last part of RA training (which is just a closing picnic) and then it's just the last few days before the first-year students move in. Hopefully that means I can take some more time for myself. I'm also definitely looking forward to a gaming night with the group in town.

Well, I've been falling asleep in this chair already, so I need some rest. Tomorrow will be National Park Service Day, National Second-hand Wardrobe Day, and Kiss & Make Up Day.

DFTBA
