It was the Big One

Hey everyone. Well, today was the big day for my building - first-year student move-in. Then again, half of the first-year students in my building were already moved in because of things like football and soccer, so today wasn't that bad. The check-in process itself was also pretty smooth, even if there were a few hiccups. The important thing is that everyone showed up and got checked in.

With today being the big move-in, it sort of marks the last day of the the work blob that is RA training & move-in prep. Now that all of the new students are here, the First-Year Experience takes over and we just need to make sure paperwork is in the right place. Okay, perhaps that too much of a over-simplification, but we can start going back to our routine that doesn't include 10-12 hours days.

As I've said before, I'm looking forward to gaming and other personal endeavors outside of work. I do want to take this year and really bunker down on some of those side projects (even something as simple as sorting through my stuff and donating/recycling things I don't need anymore). Of course, the biggest thing with that goals is just setting out and doing it.

Hopefully my blogs will be less about work over the next week, so thank you for putting up with it. Tomorrow is the returning student check-in and even though I only have 20 returning students, I should still get some rest to prep for their arrival. Tomorrow will also be Race Your Mouse Around the Icons Day, Crackers Over the Keyboard Day, and Radio Commercials Day.

DFTBA
