Day 2 of 2015... I mean Day 3... Blog 2... this will take a while to get used to...

Hey everyone! It's already late, so I'll be keeping this short. It's my last day of Winter Break vacation before driving back to my apartment/campus, so it's a little sad, but still a good way to wrap up the break.

There's a portion of the Myers-Briggs temperament inventory that's Judging vs. Perceiving and an example that is used to differentiate the two is that people who are more Judging have a thorough shopping list and know exactly where to get each item at the grocery store and people who are more Perceiving just have an idea and wander here and there. Today was a Perceiving day.

I did get awesome breakfast at Mickey's Diner, made a meaningful shopping trip, and hung out with a few friends for a while including food, board games, and watching football. Again, I didn't have specific plans in mind when I woke up this morning, but I made things work and had fun along the way.

When it comes to work, my Judging side definitely kicks in and pushes me to inquire about more details and timelines. It does make sense though. At work, I'm in charge of a residence hall and dealing with critical information that needs to be forwarded to others in a timely fashion. So, it's kind of important that I feel like I know everything about what's going on. It's definitely one of the reasons why I feel strung out at the end of a long week.

Maybe it's a distorted sense of self, but I think even my personal-not-working me was more Judging in high school/college compared to now. I remember asking a supervisor for a training schedule and feeling that panic when he said we would get schedules the following day. Everything with training went as planned, but I just had to know right then.

It does feel like I'm letting go of anxiousness about the future and embracing the mindset of going with the flow. I do appreciate that I can take that attitude (at least to a good degree) when I visit family and friends.

I could easily go on and share more stories, but this feels like a decent place to stop. Some blog entries will probably be random and rambling like this, so consider yourself warned. Anyway, have a good one!
