Do you ever have this feeling where you find out something you probably shouldn't know about? You happen to walk into a room at the "right" moment or your eye happens to dart to a specific spot and a certain word pops out from the page. Maybe it's not even that direct. It could be reading body language and thinking "the only reason you would act this way is if you're working on plan B rather than A".
Then, once you know certain information, you want to run to someone else and say "oh my gosh, did you know about this?" You know, let's go with an example. I happen to walk in on Ron and Phil and I hear Ron say "I'm proposing to Stacey on Wednesday". Ron and I aren't the closest, so if I didn't hear this now, I might not otherwise hear about it until after Ron and Stacey post about it all over Facebook. So, now part of me feels like I should run to Stacey and start congratulating her, but at the same time, it's not my story to tell. Ron will propose to Stacey and then let everyone know when he feels that the time is right. Ever had that feeling?
For some odd reason, I had this feeling pop up a couple of times today for different reasons. Obviously, I can't say the specifics but it definitively feels like I got a sneak peek of a wedding ring and now I need to hold my tongue until a proposal has been made. Hopefully that analogy still makes sense. I don't know - it's just a weird feeling. (This is also my way of kind of writing about something that happened today, but not having it be a dry rendition of the day's schedule.)
I know that some of my recent holidays have been fairly random, rather than strictly sticking to ones I've celebrated. However, I think today has one of the best random holidays: Snowplow Mailbox Hockey Day. You read that correctly, even though it looks like a mash-up of random words of things outside in January. I looked up a little bit about it and it sounds less like hockey and more like "hey snow plow drivers! go nuts running over mailboxes today! see if you can ricochet one into the next county!" I guess I'm glad that I don't live out in the country with a mailbox right on the edge of the road on days like today. If anyone has any video of today's festivities, please send them my way!
