I can happily say that I was able to get up quite early two days in a row *and* that I don't have any early things tomorrow, outside of church (which is waking up at the same time as I normally would).
Today was one of the summer orientations and we had about 14 families here today. Today's group did have plenty of questions to ask, which is always a good thing. I got to sit down with a few of the students and their families and I had a number of great interactions. If the rest of the class is like today's group, I think next year will be pretty awesome.
The last part of the summer orientation was the building tour and I was a little anxious since I felt a little rusty about being a tour guide. Fortunately things went well (including scrambling to find a student who was around to show off a room with stuff in it) and again, it was a good group of incoming students and parents. For some odd reason, I thought back to giving tours of Middlebrook but I didn't have any crossing of information.

I was off for the day after orientation and once again, just got some R&R. (Well, the second R during the day, with the first R happening soon). I did go and see Iron Man 3, since I still hadn't seen it, and I thought it was pretty good. I've definitely started to appreciate when characters feel like real people with troubles and worries. In this case, I'm thinking about how Tony Stark is still mentally processing the events from the Avengers while hunting the new villain.
This is kind of random, but there was a point 2/3rds of the way through the movie when my mind snapped back to me sitting in a movie theater rather than being transfixed by the story for the length of the movie. It wasn't that I thought the movie was bad - I just felt aware of my surroundings rather than shutting my brain off. It also happened in the Avengers. For tonight, I'll chalk it up to a emergency light shining in the corner of my eye when I was sitting certain ways.

One of today's holidays was I Love Reeses Day, so my movie munchies included some Reese's Pieces. At the end of the spring semester, I picked up a bulk box of Reese's Pieces, which I've had as a dessert when I'm off-duty. Oh, and I keep them in the freezer for the chill (more importantly, so they don't melt, which does happen). What can I say? Peanut butter and chocolate is a delectable combination.

Not much else to say, so I'll wrap up. It started to rain all of the sudden, so I will be able to listen to that as I fall asleep. Have a great rest of the weekend! DFTBA.
