Compared to yesterday, today was definitely an introverted day. I took some students to church, had lunch with some students and co-workers and then stayed in my apartment for the rest of the day. I tried to do some cleaning, but I also just took some time to be lazy. Celebrating today's holidays took very little effort, as a matter of fact. It was Dictionary Day, but since getting Words With Friends installed on my smartphone yesterday, I'm now in the middle of four games. I can tell that my friends are well-versed in this style of word game and I've looked up some of their more unusual entries. Today was also International Moment of Laughter Day, so I watched both Johnny English movies. To give myself some international cred (in case it was waning by that comment), the movie I watched last night was "Amelie", so I can chalk it up to today's celebration.
I beginning to be more vocal about the random holidays with students and co-workers and I think they enjoy the randomness of it all. Of course, the students will always like the days where I have free food to celebrate.
A question I've seen before is "If you spend a day doing absolutely nothing, do you feel good or bad?". I fall more on the side of feeling bad by not doing anything, and unfortunately, today felt a little bit like that. Now, I'm taking time for myself since it is my day off, but at the same time, I need to clean. I do have a couple of work things to do during the day today, but let's hope I can take some time to be personally productive. (On a positive note, I do feel like the daily holiday celebration and blog entries are personally productive things.)
I think I'm going to keep tonight's entry short, especially since it's past my bedtime. After four years, I think I need to be firm about having an actual bedtime that I consistently follow... starting tomorrow night so I can go to bed earlier, of course. Have a great start of the week, and if you didn't already do them, take care of your taxes tomorrow!
