the first weekend is almost over

wow, I just looked at the time and thought "time really have a different meaning in college as compared to high school". every moment in high school is either in class or between classes and here in college, it's quite different. oh, and yes, I do realize it's a weekend so there's no class regardless (well, for those of us not in o-chem), but I just felt like commenting.

alright, well, I feel that telling people about my life is being productive, but in any case, I should make this short so I can do other stuff today, like reading and washing dishes...

my first week of school went pretty well. I found out on Friday that I got back into Chamber Singers, which is quite cool (I can let people know when the concerts are if they tell me they are interested). also, I signed up for an audition at the Xperimental theatre on Tuesday, so I need to make to have a monologue down before then (but I checked out a "Monologues in 2 minutes or less" book from Wilson, so it should be pretty easy). I'm so glad that Rarig isn't stuck up by only working with CLA/BFA/theatre ppl.

yesterday was my John Robert Powers school audition... bleh is my main reaction. based on my theatre elders (callboard ppl), I knew that it was a scam school going into my audition, but I wanted to see what a professional Twin Cities audition was like... it was a lot of waiting let me tell you... in the end it was 3 hours (for everything, as in I was out of the brook doing that for three hours), but it was maybe 5 minutes of 'productive' stuff (1 of these minutes being the actual audition) for me. yeah, there's call-backs today and I was supposed to call at like 11:30 to see if I made it... yeah, notice how it's almost 3:30 pm and I still don't care? :-)

oh, another thing I felt was blog-worthy was that I hope this year is going to be much better than last year in terms of keeping in touch with people... my main reason for this is that I wrote my first letter to my dad ever today. this year has already been different than last because I heard from my mom's emails that my dad already misses me and right before my mom and I pulled out of Bemidji, my dad asked for a hug (which is like the first physical contact I've had with him in like 5/6 years). I think it'd be kind of cool to write him a weekly letter that sums up all that happened that past week. I just hope it all follows through...

well, I still have stuff to read, physics to do, random side tasks, and singing at church tonight... aka, I should really end this now.

hope everyone is doing well, and my prayers are currently going out to my grandma, who recently had surgery and not the best recovery, and friends I know that are either starting college or transfering to a new college. talk to everyone later, take care and God bless.
