First, you may notice that this is the third blog entry in a week. Crazy, right? Since it is winter break, I will be blogging more. Ideally, my blog will be a mix of longer entries about a week/big event and shorter entries about random thoughts or just to check in. I don't want to have to blog everyday, but I don't want to miss entire months either.
The big snowstorm is just getting to Minnesota. Looking ahead, our family decided it would be best to delay some of the holiday festivities that involve traveling (especially so then my sister wouldn't be caught up in some storm on the way up). So, I'll be in town doing Christmas stuff tomorrow and the family Christmas will be Sunday. My young cousins are probably crushed because "Sunday isn't Christmas" but we already told them that Christmas will just have to wait. (On another similar thought process, I'm really glad I got to Bemidji when I did because the storm would have hit us at any point between Maryville and here!)
Today was another low-key day. I had lunch with a high school friend who is home from Pittsburgh and it was nice to catch up with her for a little bit. Then, I roamed around town for a little bit. I figure I will be watching a lot of Christmas movies over the next two days, but I just finished watching A Nightmare Before Christmas (I love the music!).
On the subject of high school friends, this is really the point when I would want to take a map and mark where all my high school and college friends have been getting jobs and/or going to. Here are some of the places off the top of my head:
Bemidji & Minneapolis (of course)
Fargo, ND
Duluth, MN
Chicago, IL
Pittsburgh, PA
Las Vegas, NV
Xenia, OH
Baltimore, MD (okay, Ben's job starts in February and it's in the Baltimore area, but it still counts)
Syracuse, NY
Cambridge, UK
If any others come to mind, add it as a comment!
Well, I think I'll join up with some family friends so I should get some shut-eye. Merry Christmas!
