Nearly Three Weeks

Yet again, time flies by so quickly. I've been home for close to three weeks and it barely feels like two. Truth be told, there hasn't been a lot of exciting things going on... it's just been life. There are still a lot of unpacked boxes in my room although I'm trying to sort through them, little by little. A good chunk of my first week was spent planning out a class here at BSU to finish up the math degree. I've been hanging out with friends, which is nice--ooh and sleeping in is awesome as expected! I got connected with a Bible study group here at BSU, which has been pretty cool. It sounds like there will be a different staff person at each weekly Bible study, so we'll have to see how that goes. I've met a lot of nice students with the group too.

One sad note is that Betsy, the oldest dog in the household, passed away Sunday morning. She was slowly losing strength over the past few weeks and with everything else, it looked like it was simply old age because Betsy was getting on to be 14 or something like that. I know this took a particular toll on my parents because with Tess and myself out of the house, the dogs became their live-in children. Plus, the three dogs I grew up alongside have now all passed away in the past year-and-a-half. So, if you could keep my family in your prayers for that reason, that'd be greatly appreciated.

On an odd note, I think I've been to the theater more in the past three weeks than the last school year. I went to the Wolverine movie with high school friends (I really liked the opening sequence going through the wars) and then Star Trek with BSU friends. You could really analyze both about their storyline, and yes I've seen the movie that makes fun of the fact that Star Trek has a very similar storyline to Star Wars: A New Hope (http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1910892)... but over-analyzing aside, I thought they were both good action movies. I've never seen any of the old Star Trek shows or movies, but there are enough parodies out there with classic Star Trek lines that were also thrown into the movie ("I've giving it all she's got", "Da**it Jim, I'm a doctor", "Live long and prosper", etc).

Well, I should really get going with my day. Hopefully I'm able to focus on one thing at a time, because there are definitely many things that could use my attention.
