MusiCamp 2006!! ... the return of Sancho!!

wow, to think my first blog was about MusiCamp 2005... and to think about all that's happened this year... holy crap...

yesterday I went to the band finale concert, which was awesome! first off, it was packed, but I'm glad I could grab a seat by Dr. and Mrs. Hess (the superintendent of Bji school system). the music was amazing and joe burgstaller... ahh, so incredible!!! i was also glad to see a lot of solos, like little Carlson on tromb, Donald on tromb, Sam B on French horn, and Ted with a jazz flute/tenor sax feature piece.

I can wonder how Linds, Britt, Ted, Donald, and Sam were this year, but when I thought about it, there were quite a few people that hung out together that weren't at camp this year:

me (trumpet)
my roommate Chris (incredible euphonium)
Joey Joe Joe Joe (cool clarinet)
Amber (awesome oboe)
Signe (amazing trumpet)
Billy (big ol' tuba)

... and that's just people from our little group... (and it was funny to see the entire trombone section of Jazz I raise their hand to say this was their last year at camp)

okay, so this was the first time in 7 years that I was an audience member for MusiCamp, so I made my amends and such. when I came back from the concert, who should have called, but Dr. Logan, the director of the choir camp (which for the first time in 59 years, the choir camp is the week after band camp). so yeah, Dr. Logan called my house while I was at the MusiCamp band concert and wanted me to come in and help out with choir MusiCamp this next week (starting today... but there's no rehearsals today, so we're cool). I know it may not seem like much, but that coincedence just made me laugh for like 10 seconds.

so, with that said, Sancho has returned!!! RAH!!! Fortunately, I can coordinate MusiCamp with PBP, so I can come to at least half the mixed rehearsals and (hopefully) all the men's choir rehearsals. if anything, only tuesday will be crazy (running back and forth should be... crazy).

other than that, life is pretty good. Harvey closed up last night and strike was enjoyable... and for once they had pizza and pop afterwards (sorry Rachel, but it is the first time this year). ooh, and really really good cookies via Megan. of course, I've also been working on film stuff and hanging with people (including random things like a bike ride with Chris yesterday)

alright, I wanted to mainly to spread the joy of the return of Sancho, so I should head out now and grab some morning food. hope everyone is doing well... and for Bji ppl, the choir finale concert is on Sat (Jul 29) @ 1:30 (as far as I remember--I'll keep you guys updated). enjoy your summer now that the heat is less... death. ttyl, take care and God bless
